Rare’s Simon Mullins (pictured right) and Melbourne-based Thomas Zoldhelyi (pictured left) were recently crowned world champions of the 2021/22 Young Glory competition from over 100 teams worldwide.

Young Glory, often referred to as advertising’s Tour de France, is a gruelling competition where entrants tackle 8 big briefs over 8 months.

Each brief is written and judged by industry leaders from big organisations worldwide, including Oliver North America, Rethink Canada, Sneaker Freaker, Iris Worldwide (Jakarta & San Fransisco), EA Games, BWM Isobar (Dentsu Creative, Sydney) and Taxi Montreal.

Mullins and Zoldhelyi scored 1x Gold, 2x Silver, 4x Bronze and 8x Finalist to take out first place in the Professional category and claim the coveted Young Glory championship ring.

Mullins said: “After spending just 5 minutes on a zoom call together, we agreed to take on an 8-month partnership. Which was immediately followed by a feeling of ‘what have we done?’. I guess this goes to show that sometimes a leap of faith lands you on top of a podium. Even when the odds suggest a 250-euro faceplant. I’d personally like to say thank you to Thomas for his passion and energy throughout the competition, as well as the organisers, judges and our fellow competitors. Young Glory was an unforgettable experience and being crowned champions is icing on the cake.”
