PADC’s launches first Commune event for 2025 – ‘Indigenous Creativity – Behind the lens’

The Perth Advertising and Design Club has announced its first Commune event for the year, ‘Indigenous Creativity – Behind the lens’, this Thursday, 13th February at Lawson Flats.

In partnership with SBS, NITV, Nani Creative and Blak Line Industries, this powerful conversation will spotlight First Nations talent across design, filmmaking, art, advertising and production, and offer a rare behind-the-scenes look at working authentically with culture in commercial creativity.

A lineup of industry leaders will share their experiences and perspectives on storytelling through a First Nations lens including:
• Kevin Wilson – Creative Director, Nani Creative and designer of the 2024 PADC gold skull award
• Raquel Todd – Co-Founder, Blak Line Industries and Director First Nations X
• Adam Manovic – Head of Indigenous Commissioning and Production, National Indigenous Television (NITV)
• Karla Hart – Producer, Writer and Director, Karla Hart Enterprises
• Tyrown Waigana – Artist and Designer, Crawlin Crocodile

“I’m excited to be facilitating a solid morning around representing culture authentically in commercial creativity. We’ve pulled together some leaders in their craft to yarn through their experiences and perspectives,” says Kevin Wilson.

The event will be held at Lawson Flats, partner and Creative Headquarters of the PADC.

Come be part of the conversation, connect with the creative community, and celebrate the richness of First Nations storytelling in commercial creativity.
