PADC celebrates the wonder of creativity with the launch of the 2024 Skulls call for entries

The Perth Advertising and Design Club (PADC) has opened the call for entries for the 2024 Skulls awards. Now in its 35th year, the Skulls celebrates the best of Western Australian commercial creativity.

This year, the awards celebrate the wonder, awe, and magic of work at the height of creativity. From strategic insight and creative ideation, through to production excellence, the PADC Skulls showcase the best creative work and talent in our state.

Categories span a range of disciplines including film, radio and audio, print and design, digital and technology, OOH, and craft. This year sees the introduction of new and refreshed awards, including a new social media category, and brand and campaign strategy sub-categories. Two new Diamond Skulls will be crowned on the night, recognising outstanding individual talents for Strategist of the Year and The Mettle Skull, acknowledging a client who has championed innovation and bravery in commercial creativity.

PADC Co-presidents, Leigh Wood and Dan Agostino, said: “The committee has worked hard to steer the club forward, in response to feedback we received from the industry survey held earlier in the year. We’re really proud of how it’s coming together.”

“Like anything, the club and its awards needed to evolve to represent the variety and ever-increasing breadth of work that every studio, in-house team, independent creative, and agency is working across. This includes a bigger focus on digital, technology, and strategy. This year’s awards will continue to honour the history of the PADCs and excellence in our industry, as well as inspiring an elevated standard of creativity in our state.”

With entries being welcomed from agencies, in-house teams, independent professionals, and students, the Skulls sets the benchmark of quality in commercial creativity in WA, celebrating the work and creative talent that drives our industry forward.

The deadline for entries is 23rd August, with judging commencing in early September. Winners will be announced at the PADC Skulls Awards night held in November.
