Nine Perth launches new cross-platform series ‘The Reporter: True Stories’

For the very first time, muti-award winning journalist and broadcaster, 6PR’s Gary Adshead, will delve deep into his investigative archives to deliver a compelling cross-platform series, recounting some of Australia’s biggest cases in The Reporter: True Stories.

Launching today with weekly feature articles on WAtoday.com.au and weekly podcast episodes, this eight-part Nine presentation recounts notable cases where Adshead either broke the news or made the news, and delivers raw, personal insight into the life of a reporter and what really happened behind the headlines.

Adshead said: “This is a project I’ve been working on for some time and I’ve looked back through my mountains of paperwork, transcripts and articles to pinpoint the big stories with a compelling back story, to finally reveal what was really involved in bringing you the news.”

His acclaimed first-hand expertise resonates in each edition of The Reporter: True Stories, promising unique content across his weekly feature stories on WAtoday. The discussion continues on each accompanying podcast episode, where Adshead candidly reflects on cases with long-time colleague and friend, 9News Perth’s Michael Thomson. Extraordinary secret audio recordings will also be featured.

The first edition recounts Rescuing Bullimore. Adshead was the only television journalist on the warship sent to find missing round-the-world yachtsman Tony Bullimore.
