Nine Perth hosts State of Origin pre-event celebration at Crown Mansions

Nine’s CEO Matt Stanton and Nine Perth Managing Director Clive Bingwa welcomed distinguished guests, clients, industry managers and executives to an exclusive Origin pre-game celebration at Crown Mansions on Wednesday afternoon, before hosting them at the big Game 2 clash at Optus Stadium.

 

The who’s who in attendance from the NRL included Chairman Peter V’landys, CEO Andrew Abdo and WA General Manager John Sackson. Other notable guests included Wayne Pearce OAM, the Hon Peter Beattie AC & Heather Beattie, as well as Nine’s Managing Director, Streaming & Broadcast Amanda Laing and on-air personalities Paddy Sweeney and Karl Langdon.

Last night’s State of Origin Game 2 broadcast live and free on Channel 9, was the dominant No.1 program locally, recording its highest ever Total TV Audience for a State of Origin game in Perth with a massive 190,000 viewers across Total TV.

It also takes the crown as Australia’s No.1 program in 2025 and the highest-rating Game 2 since 2015 claiming a Total TV National Reach of 5.5 million and a Total TV National Audience of 3.8 million – up 17.5% year-on-year. This exceptional performance across Total TV once again reinforces the unmatched impact of live sport on Nine.
