New innovation Lab launched by Eliza_ to help WA businesses catch $315 billion digital wave

Digital product consultancy Eliza_ has launched a co-creation ‘Lab’ in Claisebrook to jumpstart innovation. It says business leaders and innovators can benefit from in-house customer research, human-centred design and development.

A new, innovation Lab is seeking to help WA businesses take advantage of the next $315 billion digital wave, expected to revolutionise industries like healthcare, agriculture and mining according to CSIRO’s Digital Innovation report. Open to business leaders and start-ups alike, ‘The Lab’ is a co-creation space run by digital product consultancy Eliza_.

Co-founders Sam Rees and Dan Bradley said the Lab offers a unique ‘test bed’ to design, test and develop new product ideas and service innovations.

“We built Eliza_ in response to the way tech is changing our lives so dramatically – to help businesses create better digital products and experiences,” said Rees. “We work with organisations to co-create, test and learn, which helps them become more adaptive and innovative. We can then build the software products to transform their business.”

Based in Claisebrook, the Lab houses a dozen experts from a range of disciplines including customer research, data and analytics, customer experience (CX) design, digital product design, software development and prototyping. Bradley said design and technology can be used to transform the business model as well the customer experience.

“We worked with a healthcare organisation that gets 60,000 phone calls a month, resolving the same issues over and over. Here, we designed and built a human-centred technology solution that allows people to ‘pick a path’ through videos to educate themselves, before sending their decision to their GP to access care. This is a scaleable experience that builds trust in the brand that pays off when it’s time to choose a provider.”

“It would be really exciting for WA to be at the forefront of innovation and punch above its weight in terms of its technology products and innovation maturity. We’re here to help Perth enterprises transform by applying the latest human-centred design processes used in Silicon Valley,” he added.
