New entertainment brand launches Perth game show starring local creators
There’s a new kid on the block in Perth’s lifestyle and social media scene with the debut of quirky entertainment brand This is Perth. Dear Storyteller, the agency behind the venture, has teamed up with a group of Perth creators including Ashleigh Jade, Seva Mozhaev, Emily Grosser, Cabinet Noir’s Edward Maradona and Cold Nips co-founders Ryan Linton and Jian Wong Yen. Together, their first project is set to launch this week; a TikTok and Instagram game show full of hyper-localised Perth content that’s bound to put a smile on your face.
On the show, creators will buzz, shout, and sing their way through a slew of nostalgia-filled games. You’ll see them making sense of local lingo, pondering Perthonalities, belting out iconic Aussie jingles, and at one point, debating whether they’d rather be devoured by a black swan or a quokka. As the first game show of its kind in WA, This is Perth affectionately presents the local quirks we all know and love in a fresh, entertaining format.
Speaking to Ashleigh Jade about the project, she was excited to see Perth creators coming together to celebrate their hometown. “Being an influencer can be isolating at times, so to be involved alongside so many interesting creative people has been incredible; hopefully the result is a lot of fun.”
Seva Mozhaev, who last year tipped over a million followers on TikTok, said the show is all about relatability. “The best thing about Perth is its people. We wanted to celebrate that by reflecting on those iconic Perth experiences we’ve all had and have a lot of laughs along the way.”
GM of Dear Storyteller, Mike Drysdale, said: “We wanted the show to feel like a games night with friends; spontaneous, playful, candid. We knew the content would be entertaining, so we just said why not? Let’s try it with some of the funniest, most creative people we know.”
The game show launches on May 3rd, 2022. Watch the first episodes when they land:
