MyPlace launches second spot featuring Nathan Cleary and Penrith Panthers players

MyPlace has released its latest cheeky advertisement featuring the Penrith Panthers, co-created by Braincells and Sandbox. This campaign promotes the launch of the innovative MyPlaceIQ smart home product, showcasing both humour and teamwork. A nice progression from the initial ad campaign marking the sponsorship announcement from MyPlace in 2023.

The ad captures star player Nathan Cleary in the driver’s seat, taking his teammates to training. But one player is notably absent: Brian To’o, known as “Bizza,” who is still fast asleep. In a playful twist, Nathan uses the MyPlaceIQ app to turn up the heat in the car, while his teammates join in the fun by flicking the lights on and off to rouse Bizza. The prank reaches its peak as he steps outside in his football jersey and jocks, prompting laughter from the entire team.

Directed by Sandbox’s Jack Connell, the commercial emphasizes the convenience and control offered by the MyPlaceIQ smart home system. Leading the creative efforts were Jeff Champtaloup, Creative Director at Braincells, and Clint Logan, Executive Producer at Sandbox, with Match & Wood handling the media.

Connell said: “Returning to Sydney to team up with the same crew that brought the first campaign to life was a real pleasure. A year later, and we’ve taken the comedy to the next level—sneaking in some cheeky nods to our favourite gags from the original spot! Good luck in the finals boys!”

MyPlaceIQ is the latest super-smart air conditioning innovation from the talented research and development team at Advantage Air, based in Canning Vale, in the southern suburbs of Perth.

The new MyPlaceIQ air-con and smart home technology system can help Aussie families reduce energy consumption by up to 46% and increases home comfort and control. MyPlace isn’t just an impressive consumer technology developed right here in Australia; it represents a paradigm shift for Australian households, navigating the challenges of higher home energy bills and helps the country achieve a lower carbon footprint.

Ryan Northover, MyPlace National Marketing Manager, said: “This commercial builds on our strong partnership with the three-time NRL Premiership winners, the Penrith Panthers. It is designed to boost mental availability for our emerging brand in key east coast markets. We are rapidly expanding our national operations and building awareness and consideration of MyPlace products in major growth corridors like western Sydney.”

“We sincerely thank our partners at the Penrith Panthers club, the football department and players, local home-builder Allam Property Group, and our talented agency teams at Braincells, Sandbox Productions, and our other agency partners for their fantastic work bringing this fun commercial to life.”
