Mandurah newspaper, Coastal Times changes name to Mandurah Times
On July 5, West Australian Newspapers’ Mandurah-based masthead changed its name from Coastal Times to Mandurah Times.
The decision to rename the publication to Mandurah Times stemmed from the intention to strengthen the newspaper’s connection with the Peel community and build a stronger sense of identity in the local area.
With the new name, Mandurah Times also introduced a refreshed identity. New signage with an updated logo has been installed around the City of Mandurah, including permanent signage at Lane Group Stadium, the home of Peel Thunder.
PerthNow and Regional Director Megan Tuckey, said: “We are thrilled to announce the transition of our Mandurah newspaper from the Coastal Times to the Mandurah Times.”
“This change to include the city’s name within our masthead reflects our commitment to the Mandurah community. With our refreshed name and updated identity we are poised to deliver even greater value and relevance to our readers and advertisers.”
Peel Editor, Hannah Cross, said: “The masthead change will increase community brand recognition across the City of Mandurah and the neighbouring Shire of Murray.”
“The name change lets readers bring their own sense of identity and meaning to their local paper.”
“We hope the community embraces the new masthead as we continue to deliver breaking news and tell the diverse stories of the Peel region.”
