Lucy Belbin joins regional agency thebox

What makes a high-level marketing head move from bustling St George’s Terrace to quiet, coastal Prince Street in Busselton? In Lucy Belbin’s case, it came down to a lot more than a change of scenery.

As previously reported, Belbin has left her role as Head of Strategy and Client Experience for Nine’s marketing arm Powered to move down south and join strategic creative agency thebox.

Over Belbin’s almost two-decade-long career she has worked at OMD and was Media Business Director at 303Mullen before joining Nine in 2017.

Belbin, who will take on the role of Brand & Campaign Strategist at thebox, was initially drawn to its unique business model.

Divided into brand, campaign and growth, the ten-person multi-disciplined agency is part of a “network” of partners – including digital media, web, sound, design and business development.

According to thebox Founder & Imagineer Scott Robinson, this unusual setup is what makes the agency (which just celebrated its 22nd birthday) so successful.

“Our business model and our network allow us to work with experts in their field – and Lucy is certainly an expert in hers. We are so pleased to welcome her as part of the crew here at thebox,” Robinson said. “The pace of life may be slower down here, but our work is anything but.”

For Belbin, joining an established agency that works strategically and dynamically is an exciting step forward in her career.

“I’m thrilled to be working alongside a true group of specialists in a dream location!” Belbin said. “This is an exciting new chapter for me – I can’t wait to start working with Scott and the crew.”
