Liquor Barons crowned Best Retail Liquor Group in the country at the 2024 Australian Liquor Industry Awards

WA based liquor retailer, Liquor Barons, has again been awarded the title of ‘Best Retail Liquor Group’ in Australia at the Australian Liquor Industry Awards, held in Sydney last Wednesday with a country and western theme.

The Australian Liquor Industry Awards (ALIAs) are widely regarded as the pinnacle awards within the Australian hospitality industry, where the winner is determined by peer voting nationally, through an audited voting process.

That wasn’t the only achievement Liquor Barons received at the ALIAs last night. Liquor Barons Duncraig won the ‘highly commended’ title for Best Liquor Store in Australia, and Basil Giglia from Liquor Barons Carlisle, was one of the nominees for Best Retail Manager in Australia.

Liquor Barons General Manager, Chris O’Brien, said it was an honor to accept the Best Retail Liquor Group award on behalf of the Liquor Barons Co-operative.

“It’s a proud moment for the ‘little’ banner group from WA. We were up against all the large national chains, and we’ve comprehensively beaten them again. This is a huge achievement for our cooperative of family-owned Western Australian businesses.”

“This award reflects the strength the Liquor Barons group has in this current market. Our promotional program is the sharpest it’s ever been, our strong consumer brand continues to lead the West Australian market, and most importantly we are continuing to drive profitability year on year for our store owners.”

“With this being our 5th win in 11 years, it’s proof that independent liquor retailing, and the way the Liquor Barons Cooperative is operating, is the ticket to success. Liquor Barons is a sophisticated, high-tech co-operative and we will continue to invest in building our strategic, market-leading, competitive advantage alongside our exceptional customer service.”

Watch this space for the ‘little’ banner group from Western Australia, who are already setting their sights on adding a 6th win to their belt.

Congratulations to all nominees and winners of the 2024 ALIAs awards.
