Lifestyle publisher, Urban List announces Alex Dickinson as new Head Of Content
Leading lifestyle publisher, Urban List, has bolstered its executive team with the appointment of Alex Dickinson as Head of Content, bringing over 15 years of global media experience.
After starting his career at The Courier-Mail, Dickinson worked in New York for the New York Post, Bloomberg, and the former Gizmodo Media Group, where he rose to Executive Managing Editor, helping to grow titles like Gizmodo, Lifehacker, Deadspin, and Jezebel to a combined monthly audience of over 100 million. Following a Nieman Fellowship at Harvard University, he joined The Code Company, a software agency specialising in web infrastructure for media organisations.
“Alex’s global experience scaling digital publishers and driving technology transformations makes him the perfect fit to lead our content strategy and take Urban List into its next growth phase,” says Ben Naparstek, CEO of Urban List. “Alex’s appointment will strengthen our ability to deliver impactful content that resonates with consumers while providing valuable touchpoints for brand integration, driving meaningful outcomes for our brand partners and collaborators.”
The appointment signals the company’s commitment to unlocking new opportunities for clients to connect with culture-driven audiences across APAC, where a piece of Urban List content is shared every fifteen seconds.
Dickinson said: “I was still living in Brisbane in 2011 when Susannah George launched Urban List nearby, and I was in awe of how quickly the brand became a challenger to legacy media. I look forward to working with Urban List to maximise the opportunities of today’s changing landscape.”
