Juicebox acquires Freeform to create an agency of 50 people

Juicebox has experienced its fourteenth successive year in terms of growth in annual revenue, average individual client account worth and number of staff, bolstered further by the recent acquisition of Freeform, now 50 people in size and one of Perth’s largest agencies.
From the outset of 2022, after two years of local talent scarcity, Juicebox consciously prepared for the border reopening and laid plans to grow the team rapidly.
It was back in 2012, Juicebox’s fourth year in business at the time, that they first explored the merging of the Juicebox and Freeform. That didn’t eventuate in the end, but critical to note was the parallel business journeys and the mutual respect that has always existed between our companies – no doubt strengthened by a life-long friendship between Chris Nelson (pictured above left), Juicebox MD and Brett Novak (pictured above right), Freeform MD that extends back to childhood.
Driven by strong cultural alignment, work ethic and industry outlook, both parties moved swiftly and decisively to integrate six key personnel to bolster capacity across the breadth of capabilities. With both organisations demonstrating strength and performance over the past 24 months, the motivation to absorb the business was based on the acquisition of talent and a ‘better together’ vision of success, focussed on deepening client relationships and fast tracking growth to meet the evolving demands of a digital-first market.
Novak said: “Our shared vision and commitment to lead industry not just by way of output, but also in creating a dynamic workplace that fosters talent progression made for an exciting opportunity that was ripe for exploring. This joining of forces is testament to the relationship that we have cultivated working in parallel over more than a decade, and it goes without saying we are beyond delighted with the outcome.”
“Our ability to deliver internationally recognised brands and creative campaigns, award winning websites and digital experiences, innovative tech-driven applications, as well as emerging web3 technologies has meant that we have forged a position as a truly solution agnostic digital communications business that continually stretches the agency category,” said Nelson.
Here is a snapshot of major clients and recently completed projects:
1. Minderoo – Refocusing the digital experience for a major philanthropic organisation
2. Wesfarmers – Taking Australia’s largest private art collection online for all to enjoy
3. Coca Cola – Digital-led national competition and campaign delivered by WA agency
4. FFI – Designing a brand identity for a future global energy giant
5. Capitaliz – Building and launching a specialist SaaS platform into the US market
6. Develop – Launching a new generation mining brand to engage future industries
7. Venues Live – Crafting the brand experience of Australia’s best stadium precinct
8. Binar Space – Brand and launch campaign for WA’s first space satellite project
9. Liquor Barons – Connecting customers to WA’s largest network of liquor retailers
Juicebox believes that innovation is driven by co-creation and with a healthy pipeline of new opportunities and a focus on deeper integration with clients, they will continue to embrace new challenges and nurture a digital-first, human mindset to continually push things forward.
“Our firm belief is that talent attracts talent and we are enthusiastic about unlocking the potential of our people to drive growth and deliver meaningful outcomes, all the while nurturing a creative culture that positions Juicebox as an employer of choice,” said Nelson.

Great move for all involved and this creates a much stronger business, by my reckoning the second largest agency in Perth.
Cheers to new mates and more brilliant brand building experiences.
