Josh Krueger wins Seven West Media’s Agency Footy Tipping Competition

Forget the AFL finals. The fiercest rivalry this September wasn’t on the field, it was in the office. The battle for bragging rights (and a $1,000 Thirsty Camel voucher) came down to the wire in Seven West Media’s Agency AFL Tipping Competition.

After 18 weeks of twists, upsets and nail-biting finishes, Unify’s Josh Krueger emerged on top, securing a second consecutive title for the agency after Ollie Notley’s 2024 victory.

The season was anything but predictable. 303 MullenLowe’s Meg Handley and OMD’s Kevin Rapose traded blows at the top of the ladder for much of the competition before Krueger surged late to clinch the win. In the end, just three points separated the top five, with Initiative’s Dani Marazis and Marketforce’s Adam Marshall rounding out the podium on 155 points apiece.

Asked about his secret to success, Krueger kept his game plan simple: “Block out the noise, back your gut, and don’t look back. I tipped early each week and stuck to my guns. Sometimes instinct beats overthinking.”

It proved a winning formula. A couple of bold calls along the way gave him the edge the kind of risks that separate champions from the pack.

Seven West Media Chief Sales Officer, Brent Stewart, said: “The competition has become a highlight of the year for agencies and staff alike. It’s always fiercely contested and full of banter, but it’s also a great way to bring our industry together. Congratulations to Josh on the win and to everyone who kept the ladder so tight right to the end.”

With the men’s season wrapped, attention now turns to the AFLW Tipping Competition, where fresh rivalries and weekly $100 Thirsty Camel prizes are up for grabs. Agencies keen to join the contest can email swmagency@wanews.com.au for details.
