Hard Ball Gets named highest ranking WA produced sports podcast

The Hard Ball Gets AFL Show has cemented its place as one of Australia’s leading sports podcasts, ranking as the top WA-produced show in the latest Triton Digital Australian Podcast Ranker.
A Seven West Media WA production and part of the company’s growing audio portfolio, Hard Ball Gets is co-hosted by Ryan Daniels, Xavier Ellis and Nick Rynne. In June, it broke into the top 150 Australian-made podcasts, attracting more than 31,000 listeners and over 50,000 downloads for the month.
It was one of only three WA-made podcasts to appear in the national rankings—and the only one in the top 200—firmly establishing it as the State’s #1 podcast.
The milestone adds to what has been another standout year for the show, which recently surpassed two million lifetime downloads and continues to build a loyal national following.
Since launching on YouTube, the show has been growing its digital footprint, recording over 600,000 views across Instagram and TikTok this season alone.
Last year, Hard Ball Gets was named Best Football Program at the WA Football Media Guild Awards, beating out a competitive field of broadcast and radio entries.
Now in its seventh year, the show continues to go from strength to strength.
Seven West Media Chief Sales Officer, Brent Stewart, said “Hard Ball Gets is a brilliant example of local content with national impact. Its continued growth and loyal following are a testament to the strength of our talent, our connection to audience, and the appetite for high- quality homegrown sports content.
“We’re incredibly proud to see it leading the way for WA in such a competitive space,” he said.
