Gary Roberts rounds up ‘The Originals’ to celebrate 96FM’s 45th birthday

It was a fabulous day Friday two weeks ago as 42 of “The Originals” celebrated radio station 96FM’s 45th birthday.
All of the people invited along to the celebration were part of the first amazing years of 96FM from 1980 – 1992.
They were there to celebrate:
The most successful FM launch in Australian radio history.
The No1 unbroken winning streak from 1985 to 1992.
The biggest Australia Day event with Skyshow attracting 500,000 people in 1988.
Station founding manager Gary Roberts there was a lot more they celebrated including the great creative contribution of John Ilian.
“Just a lot to celebrate by the people responsible for building a fabulous radio brand,” said Roberts.
