Fans flock to Seven West Media’s summer lounge at WA Day Festival
Cricket fever took centre stage at this year’s WA Day Festival, with crowds packing into Seven West Media’s Summer Lounge to watch The Ashes live and free on the big screen.
Festival-goers were also eager to jump in front of the camera, creating personalised front pages of The West Australian and STM Magazine, proving a major drawcard across the weekend.
Audience engagement was strong as fans snapped up The West’s print editions and Channel 7 merchandise before meeting some of the network’s most recognisable faces, including Susannah Carr, Rick Ardon, Ryan Daniels, Samantha Jolly, Ben Cousins and Angela Tsun.
The Spudshed Cooking Stage returned with a full program of live demonstrations from a mix of acclaimed WA chefs and Seven personalities. Susannah Carr, Rick Ardon, Angela Tsun, Samantha Jolly, Adrian Barich and Tina Altieri all stepped behind the pans, delivering crowds a blend of culinary entertainment and on-screen star power.
Seven News Presenter Samantha Jolly said: “It was amazing to see cricket fans and festival-goers come together in the Seven West Summer Lounge, cheering for every run, snapping photos and enjoying all the live action. Being part of a weekend that celebrates our wonderful WA community has been such a highlight.”
