Dancing With The Stars returns to channel Seven

Dancing With The Stars returned to the screens of Seven last night, reaching a massive 281,000 West Australians, as the first group of celebrities took to the dance floor.

7NEWS Sports Presenter and AFL legend, Ben Cousins proved popular in WA, attracting a total TV audience of 138,000 with broadcast growing 66% year on year.

Cousins subbed his footy boots for the foxtrot last night and despite placing at the bottom of the leaderboard, his performance was described as “infectious to watch” by judge, Sharna Burgess.

Gold Logie winner, Sonia Kruger and new co-host Dr Chris Brown introduced the 12 celebrities competing for the Mirror Ball Trophy. Joining Ben to perform were Lisa McCune, Nadia Bartel, Ant Middleton, and James Stewart. Unfortunately, Julie Goodwin had to withdraw from last night’s episode due to serious calf muscle tears during rehearsal.

This Sunday the spotlight shifts to the second group of celebrities including Samantha Jade, Adam Dovile, Shane Crawford, and Nova Peris as they take to the dance floor for the first time.

Dancing With The Stars continues 7.00pm Sunday on Channel 7 and 7plus.
