Communications and Events Hub honours 2015 West Australian of the Year Ros Worthington
Dr Ros Worthington OAM, West Australian of the Year (2015), a philanthropist, cancer survivor, the driving force behind Lifeline WA Black Diamond Ball/Help Me campaign. A significant feather in her cap was starting Breast Cancer Care WA – she dyed the first purple bra for ‘Purple Bra Day’ in her own laundry tub.
Ros Worthington was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer earlier this year and chose to die with Voluntary Assisted Dying in October.
Ros was the driver behind the three directors of Media Stable, Known Associates and Lush getting together under the same roof of 295 Lord Street. The three companies were brought together to work on launching Lifeline’s Help Me Campaign well over a decade ago. All three directors continued to support Ros in her multiple fundraising and awareness campaigns over the years.
The newly renovated office at 295 Lord Street was completed in November that also has Nani Creative onsite is a powerhouse of creativity, communications, media, and events.
The two meeting rooms have been named “Rossy” the name affectionately used by her friends and the other room “Worthington”.
“She is in the hearts of the Directors of all three companies, so we thought it fitting her name live on in our combined office space – a union and relationships that may never have come about if it wasn’t for the generous and connecting spirit of Ros Worthington.” Tamara Cook, Founder of Known Associates.
“Ros was the most giving, compassionate, caring, down to earth person you could ever have the pleasure of crossing paths with. She gave everything she had to the community and never stopped helping others until the day she passed away at 73 years of age in October.” Cook said.
“If you had the pleasure of meeting Ros you couldn’t help but feel a better person for knowing her. A powerhouse of energy and good. It’s a daily reminder of this amazing woman.” Nic Hayes, Founder of Media Stable.
