Australian Directors Guild nominee for best TVC Aislinn Lowe signs to Clockwork Films
Clockwork Films has announced the signing of director Aislinn Lowe, fresh off the back of her ADG nomination for best Commercial Advertisement, which saw her work for Google nominated with just four others in the category.
This follows her previous nomination for Emerging Director of the Year at AWARD in 2023, showing a director picking up momentum in her career, and honing her craft at speed.
Lowe’s work is equal parts sensorial and surreal and marries striking art direction, powerful performances and deft camera movement to create uniquely dream-like moments.
As well as unique camera techniques, Lowe has gravitated to traditionally complex and nuanced subject matter; including gender identity, intimacy, and youth culture.
Lowe said: “The best projects I have worked on have been driven by non-traditional approaches, whether that be the pitch, the process, or the people working on them. In joining the Clockwork roster, I’m proud to be surrounded by those who care about getting great work made, and the many different forms that can take. I can’t wait to continue creating stylised and surreal worlds with a team that challenges the status quo.”
Katie Trew, EP, Clockwork, said: “It’s exciting to see talented emerging directors like Aislinn starting to make waves amongst the heavy hitters. Partnering with Aislinn at this stage of her career is a privilege for an EP and I can’t wait to get her out West to work with us and our local crews. I encourage all the Perth agencies to check out her reel.”
