ARN hosts second InspHERation event with talks from Yumi Stynes + ARN’s own Fiona Ellis-Jones
Yesterday, Thursday 24 August, ARN held their second InspHERation Series event, with inspiring talks from Yumi Stynes, host of 5 Minute Food Fix podcast and co-host of the iHeartTrivia channel, and Fiona Ellis-Jones, ARN’s Head of News and Information.
The event celebrates the incredible ladies working in media and provides a platform to both share stories and build a support network with like-minded women in the Perth media industry. In the room were attendees from media agencies, clients and ARN.
Women in this industry have powerful stories that quite often go unheard amongst the daily grind. They have the unique ability to understand and support each other, and it’s so important to encourage this and in this forum, it was facilitated.
The theme for this event was “Resilience” and was demonstrated through two very powerful discussions from Stynes and Ellis-Jones.
Stynes talked about how she built up resilience working in the media industry, and how even with several high-profile setbacks, she was able to steady the course and succeed through her writing, podcasts and other media roles.
Ellis-Jones shared a personal journey which demonstrated through hardship, she built her resilience and was able to derive positives out of her situation.
Jess Cameron, Agency Account Director and brainchild of the InspHERation Series, said: “Our industry has so many amazing female superstars and this is the perfect opportunity to connect and celebrate with them. Over the years, I have leaned on my relationships in this industry for help and guidance and it’s important to me to pay that forward.”
Aaron Bryant, Agency Sales Director, said: “I’m so proud of Jess and the team for bringing this very important message to the forefront and creating a forum for our clients to connect and have an open dialogue.”
