Juicebox and Kleenheat Spark take out Australian Good Design Award for Digital Design
Juicebox and Kleenheat Spark have won a 2026 Australian Good Design Award in the Digital Design: Web Design and Development category, with the win announced last week ahead of the awards ceremony held in Sydney on Friday 9 October.
The Australian Good Design Awards are Australia’s longest-running international design awards program, established in 1958 and recognised internationally as one of the world’s most respected design recognition programs. Every project is evaluated by an independent jury of more than 100 Australian and international design experts across three criteria: design quality, innovation, and impact.
The jury was direct in its assessment of Kleenheat Spark: “The Jury recognises Kleenheat Spark as an exceptional reimagining of a complex and traditionally fragmented customer journey, transforming solar adoption into a clear, transparent and user-led digital experience. By condensing a weeks-long process into an eight-minute self-directed journey, the platform successfully builds trust in a low-confidence category while delivering strong commercial and environmental outcomes at scale. The Jury commends the team for setting a new benchmark for digital design in the energy sector.”
Kleenheat Spark brings together everything a customer needs in one place, replacing what is often a weeks-long research process with a guided experience that provides tailored recommendations, quality products, verified installers and upfront pricing, including available rebates. Juicebox served as Kleenheat’s design and technology partner, supporting the delivery of the Kleenheat Spark brand and identity, user experience design and underlying platform build, shaping this into a seamless, trustworthy platform experience that reflects Kleenheat’s long-standing commitment to clarity, value and simplicity.
“Kleenheat asked us to take a trusted brand into a category people don’t trust and make it simple enough to use without ever making it feel simplistic. A Good Design Award is a genuinely rare thing to win, and this team earned it,” said Chris Nelson, Founder, Juicebox.
Chelsea Gray, Digital, Data and Improvement Manager at Kleenheat, said: “The idea for Kleenheat Spark came from a systemic review of the electrification landscape – we knew that Kleenheat’s history in the energy market was valuable, and we wanted a growth area that could take us into new frontiers. We always had the principles of customer-led design, combined with an agile, iterative research program to direct our course.”
