PADC’s Commune series looks at The Future of Screens with Val Morgan
The Perth Advertising and Design Club (PADC) has announced its next event in its Commune series, The Future of Screens. In partnership with Val Morgan, the event brings together industry experts and leaders to explore the rapidly evolving way audiences consume media across cinema, streaming, television, digital, outdoor and mobile.
As audiences move across more screens than ever, businesses and brands face a common question – where should they invest their marketing and creative efforts to have the greatest impact?
Held at Palace Cinemas Raine Square, The Future of Screens will explore changing audience behaviour, the evolving media landscape and what it means for marketers, creatives and businesses trying to reach the right people, in the right places
Hosting the panel is Matty Limpus, Executive Producer at Sandbox Productions and PADC’s Production, Film and Photography Lead. Limpus has extensive experience working across commercials, complex productions, and long-form film and television. He spent a decade at The Walt Disney Company Australia & New Zealand producing, directing and leading production across their entertainment channels and branded content projects
He is joined by Michelle Hawkins, WA Sales Director at Val Morgan and Group Sales Manager at CINEads and James Grandison, the Business and Industry Development Director at Perth Film Studios.
Limpus said the conversation is particularly timely as the distinction between screens, platforms and traditional media channels continues to blur.
“For years we’ve talked about new screens taking audiences away from traditional ones, but this year we’ve started to see something really interesting happen,” says Limpus. “Creators who built huge audiences online are becoming filmmakers and actually bringing those audiences into cinemas. At the same time, the lines between TV, streaming, social and digital are getting harder to define. It feels less like these screens are competing with each other, and more like they’re all becoming part of the same ecosystem.”
But the conversation won’t end with the panel.
Following the discussion, attendees can sit back, grab some popcorn and settle in for the opening night screening of Tom Cruise’s new movie, Digger, thanks to Val Morgan. After an evening discussing the future of screens, it seems only right to finish on a very big one.
