The Logies shine bright on Seven
The glamour and excitement of the 66th TV WEEK Logie Awards won fans across Australia last night, with the Seven Network’s live and exclusive coverage reaching 3.46 million people on Seven and 7plus and scoring the biggest audience since they returned to Seven in 2023.
Television’s night of nights, which saw The Front Bar’s Sam Pang take home the Gold Logie and Seven’s iconic A Country Practice, acclaimed actor Deborah Mailman and comedian Andrew Denton inducted into the TV WEEK Logie Awards Hall of Fame, attracted a national total TV audience of 1.49 million.
The audience was up 4% on the 2025 awards – representing the fourth year in a row it has increased – and the Logies ranked as the #1 show in all people, 25 to 54s, 16 to 39s and grocery shoppers in terms of reach.
Hosted for the first time by Robert Irwin and featuring performances by Peking Duk, Katie Noonan, Casey Donovan and Dannii Minogue, this year’s Logie Awards delivered a record audience on 7plus of 165,000, up 63% on last year.
Earlier last night, the TV WEEK Logie Awards Red Carpet reached 2.31 million and had a national total TV audience of 1.32 million, up 2% on 2025.
Combined, the Red Carpet and the awards show reached 3.97 million Australians.
7NEWS also had a big Sunday, reaching 2.36 million with a national audience of 1.5 million, taking the title of the night’s most watched program in total TV audience.
Southern Cross Media Group’s Managing Director, Television and Streaming, Angus Ross, said: “Now in their fourth year back on Seven, the Logies continue to capture the attention of millions of Australians and stand as one of the most watched entertainment events on television, year in, year out.
“The Logies have grown every year since they came home to Seven in 2023, highlighting the power and reach of free-to-air TV.
“This year’s Logies were particularly special, marking the 70th year of Australian television. For seven decades, our local television industry has kept the country informed, engaged and entertained. Last night was a fantastic celebration of the past, the present and the future of Australia’s most popular form of entertainment,” he said.
“They were also special as they heralded the introduction of the Bruce McAvaney Award for Most Popular Sports Presenter. The new award is a fitting tribute to Bruce, who is part of the fabric of Seven and a legend in sport broadcasting here and around the world.
“Congratulations to Robert Irwin, who brought his trademark energy and enthusiasm to the hosting role, and to all the winners, including our own Gold Logie winner Sam Pang, 7NEWS and Sunrise for receiving the Best News Coverage or Public Affairs Report award with their coverage of the Bondi terror attack, and the team behind RFDS for their Best Drama Program award. Seven is honoured to work with TV WEEK, Are Media and the entire television industry to shine the spotlight on the best of the best,” Ross said.
Seven’s Director of Sales, Television and Streaming, Katie Finney, said: “The TV WEEK Logie Awards are embedded in Australian culture and last night was a strong reminder of the power, reach and fun that television delivers for our audiences and advertisers.
“Television might be 70 years old, but it’s behaving like a teenager – growing, entertaining and always energetic. Congratulations to all of last night’s winners.”
