9News Perth bids farewell to Scherri-Lee Biggs as she joins 9News Melbourne, Natalia Cooper to take over weeknight weather

After an impressive tenure of more than 11 years with 9News Perth, weather presenter Scherri-Lee Biggs will next week bid a fond farewell to WA to relocate to Victoria, where she has been appointed the new weeknight weather reporter / presenter for 9News Melbourne in 2026. Natalia Cooper will expand her current role and present the weeknight weather for 9News Perth next year.

Since joining 9News Perth in 2014, Biggs (pictured left) has been a beloved face for the Network, recognised both for her on-air presence and active involvement in community events and activations.

In addition to her local role, the former Miss Universe Australia has built a strong national profile, regularly featuring on Today during its summer series, alongside appearances on lifestyle and reality programs such as Postcards, Destination WA and Celebrity Apprentice Australia.

Biggs said: “It has been a privilege to be welcomed into the homes of our amazing WA viewers during my time at 9News Perth, and it’s been a true honour to have met so many people at our community events and activations.

“I will miss the incredibly hard-working team at 9News Perth, who are like family to me. I am looking forward to relocating to Melbourne, my husband Dan’s hometown, with our daughter Isla, and continuing my career with the Network by joining the 9News Melbourne team.”

9News Perth Director of News, Michael Genovese, thanks Biggs for her time in WA and congratulates her on her new appointment.

“Scherri has brought professionalism, passion and presence to every weather report. She will be missed greatly by our newsroom and our viewers. She will be a great asset to the 9News Melbourne team and we look forward to seeing her thrive on the east coast.”

Hugh Nailon, National News Director, said: “We are delighted to welcome Scherri-Lee to the forefront of our news team. Her extensive experience and brilliant live broadcasting ability will be a wonderful asset to our newsroom. We look forward to Scherri-Lee joining Alicia, Tom and TJ in continuing to bring Melbourne viewers the most accurate and informative news, sport and weather they have come to rely on from 9News.”

Biggs’ final Perth weather report will be on 9News, Wednesday December 17 at 6pm.

Genovese said: “Natalia has been reporting into living rooms around Australia for over 20 years, including several years nationally on Today. We are looking forward to her continuing to deliver Perth’s best weather in 2026.”

Cooper (pictured right) said: “I began my career presenting weather for 9News Perth back in 2004. It’s always been a passion of mine. I love Perth and I love Nine. I can’t wait to get started in this role next year.”
