Made You Look unveils Perth Festival 2026 mural at Karrinyup Shopping Centre

Made You Look Media has delivered a new mural for Perth Festival 2026, transforming one of Karrinyup Shopping Centre’s busiest walkways into a large-scale illustrated map of Perth’s cultural landmarks and festival venues.

The artwork was created by illustrator and animator Alex Hare (Pixelpuncha), offering a creative take on the Festival’s brief and highlighting key program areas through his character-driven style.

The mural was then hand-painted by Cale Hummerston, whose expertise ensured the digital illustration was accurately scaled and reproduced. Every line, shape, and character was executed by hand, showcasing careful craftsmanship in a high-traffic retail environment.

“This project reflects what artist-led out-of-home can achieve when artists are given real ownership of the creative process,” said Will Clark, Director of Made You Look Media. “It not only gives Perth Festival a visually distinctive presence inside Karrinyup, but also provides meaningful public visibility for local artists.”

Positioned inside one of WA’s busiest shopping centre, the installation brings Perth Festival’s 2026 program into everyday public space, connecting audiences to the city’s arts calendar long before they enter a theatre or venue.
