Grill The Marketer’s final 2025 event hosts WA’s Champions of Change; Leigh Wood & Tess Palmyre

Tickets are on sale for the final Grill The Marketer of 2025, on November 20th, upstairs at The Court Hotel, where a room full of curious marketing minds will ask their burning questions to WA’s Champions of Change.

AdNews named Leigh Wood and Tess Palmyre in the Champions of Change Powerlist – WA’s only appearance on the national shortlist earlier this year.

Tess Palmyre – Founder of Brandable, DEI Lead at WAMA
Founder of Brandable and DEI Lead for WAMA, Palmyre helps organisations cut the crap and build brands that connect – with purpose, with people, and with integrity. She shows businesses how to show up in a polarised world without faking it, fusing cultural intelligence, inclusive strategy, and honest storytelling to create real connection that actually matters.

A former teacher and proudly Seychellois foster mum to two Noongar girls, Palmyre brings lived experience, sharp strategy and zero tolerance for performative nonsense.

She was named on the 2025 AdNews Champions of Change Power List for driving real impact in the DEI space.

Leigh Wood – Design Director of Nani Creative, PADC Co-President, Brand Lead WAMA
Wood is no stranger to being the only woman in the room, but she doesn’t see it as a handicap – it’s her superpower. It’s what’s led her to work across many terrains of the design industry.

As Co-President of the Perth Advertising and Design Club (PADC), and Brand Lead of the WA Marketing Association (WAMA), she is a creative to her core and a communications powerhouse when it counts. Wood’s expertise is grounded in more than two decades working at the intersection of government, training, and the creative industries.

Wood has been awarded throughout her career for her design work – but the award she is most proud of, is being inducted into the 2025 AdNews Champions of Change Power List – recognising individuals making significant strides in diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I) within the Australian media, marketing, and advertising industries.

The Marketer’s Carma Levene said: “The Marketer exists to celebrate the local industry, and what an opportunity to tackle an important topic with two amazing women looking to steer the industry to do better, more inclusive work.”

“We’ve had an incredible year of guests, and the final instalment for ’25 is no exception! Can’t wait to host these Champions – they’ve both spent their careers making the industry more colourful, collaborative, and culturally literate.”

Join host, The Marketer’s Carma Levene, and MC Jacqueline Baril in live Q&A, pizza and share the final instalment of this popular event for 2025 with Perth’s most curious marketers.
