WAMA brings back end of year debate: “Is the traditional agency model… out?”

The WAMA debate format is back with another hot topic, as the panel prepares to reignite the age-old discussion: traditional agencies versus in-house creatives

The panel will unpack if it’s time to pivot to working with expert teams in-house or through niche partnerships, or if agencies are still the providers of expert creative strategy, media planning, and campaign execution that makes us stand out.

WAMA Chair, Rene LeMerle, said: “We’ve been crying about the agency model being dead for years. While independents have reemerged, in-housing has taken off, but maybe it’s still around because we don’t quite know how to fix it properly. This debate will help us figure that out.”

The stellar debate panel includes:
Affirmative
Georgie Frampton, Executive Director, KWP + Partners
Hayley Boneham, General Manager – Marketing, Engagement & Partnerships, Ruah Community Services
Luke O’Sullivan, Senior Manager – Media Strategy & Planning, RAC

Negative
Tim Newton, Creative Director, St John WA
Liam Loan-Lack, CCO, Keystart
Anne Gribble, CEO, Clarity Communications
