Perth is OK! partners with Shiine to bring local stories to the streets

Perth is OK!, WA’s leading lifestyle and local news platform, has partnered with local startup Shiine Media to share its most popular stories across Shiine’s rideshare fleet.

Through 20 mobile digital screens, commuters and passers by are now seeing Perth is OK! content such as “What’s on around Perth this week”, “All that’s good in Western Australia”, “Perth’s best restaurants”, “Feel good news” and “Perth’s best cafés”. Together, the partnership reaches around a quarter of Perth’s population each month, adding something useful and uplifting to daily journeys and blending trusted local content with an innovative out of home format.

Sean Wharton, co-founder of Shiine Media, said: “In a world where advertising often feels intrusive, this collaboration is about making out of home more relevant. By pairing Perth is OK!’s trusted, community driven content with our mobile screens, we are offering commuters and city goers information they can actually use, and hopefully a reason to look up and feel connected to what is happening in their city.”

Luke Whelan, co-founder of Perth is OK, said:“Perth is OK has always been about highlighting the best of WA. Partnering with Shiine allows us to share that message in a new, highly visible format that reaches people where they are. In traffic, on their way to work, and out enjoying Perth’s lifestyle precincts. We strongly believe in supporting independent WA media companies and promoting a diverse WA media landscape to the benefit of the local jobs and advertiser options”

The collaboration signals a fresh take on WA media innovation, combining Perth’s most read digital lifestyle brand with a new out of home channel built to be flexible, local, and community driven.
