Mandurah radio stations lead winter appeal for Homelessness Awareness Day

For the eighth consecutive year, Mandurah’s 97.3 Coast FM and 91.7 The Wave teamed up with West-Aus Crisis and Welfare Services for their annual Winter Appeal supporting Homelessness Awareness Day 2025.
John De Bellis, Content Director, said: “The cost-of-living crisis has put pressure on our community, many are doing it tough… so we urged those who could, to chip in and help us out.
“We encouraged our listeners to drop off new and good-quality sleeping bags, warm winter clothing, tents, torches, shoes and non-perishable food at the station. In total we filled our van eight times over with quality goods.”
West-Aust Crisis and Welfare Services distribute the donations to those in need during the Homelessness Awareness Day event, held on Thursday, 7th August at the Mandurah Foreshore. 97.3 Coast FM also did a broadcast from the foreshore helping to raise awareness.
“It never ceases to amaze what a caring community we live in, our listeners have always given generously, and we’re humbled that once again they made such a positive impact for those doing it tough,” added De Bellis.
It’s what community is all about, and they are proud to be apart of such a great initiative.
