Cogsflow hosts Perth ecommerce meetup, drawing over 100 industry professionals

A huge turnout for Perth-based ecommerce tech company Cogsflow’s first Ecommerce Meetup Perth event for the ecomm, retail and digital community.

On May 28, 2025, Cogsflow brought together 100+ ecommerce merchants, retail business owners, digital marketers and agency professionals for their inaugural Ecommerce Meetup Perth at Riff, Spacecubed’s CBD venue.

Cogsflow, the Melbourne-founded and now Perth-based start-up is focussed on helping merchants and online retailers to learn and grow, and these meetups are central to that mission.

As Co-founder and CEO David Carbines, said: “We love founders and entrepreneurs doing great work, and the core question that motivates me and our team is: What can we do to make that work less risky, more fun, easier, and quicker?”

As founders and business owners themselves, Carbines and his fellow co-founders (pictured below), Marcus Holmes and Bradley Rees, understand what merchants go through to launch brands, source products and drive growth in ecommerce.

The recent Ecommerce Meetup Perth, the first of its kind for the Cogsflow team, represents a long overdue gathering of merchants, retailers, digital marketing and brand agencies and ecommerce specialists in Perth.

The event was MC’d by Ben De Jonge from digital consultancy Dapth, and the speakers included Carbines himself, Mitchell Kelly, Head of Strategy at Pathfinder Marketing, and merchants Maeva Heim (pictured below) from Bread Beauty and Jay Albany, CEO of Dirty Clean Food.

The audience was made up of ecomm merchants and retailers from brands including Curtain & Blind Co, Maxiblock, Natuva, Glow Dry Australia and Noisy Guts, specialist ecomm suppliers like Keepspace, QuickMail and Sum Effect, and ecommerce and digital marketing agencies including Unify, Block, Bonfire, Workhouse, Distl, Likeable, Bang Digital, White Chalk Road, Cultivated Commerceand others.

Holmes said: “David, Brad and I are passionate about being founders ourselves, and helping other founders. Cogsflow exists to do just that and we couldn’t be happier with the diverse audience and their energy levels on the night.”

The Cogsflow ‘access now, pay later’ model helps merchants to get more inventory, and marketing and logistics support now, to bridge the cash flow gap that so often blocks their ability to grow.

Carbines added: “Entrepreneurs and business owners are finding it more and more challenging to access fair and affordable funding that is flexible enough to free up cash flow in modern technology-enabled inventory businesses.”

The Cogsflow team are looking forward to hosting more ecommerce events in 2025, and plans are already underway for their second Ecommerce Meetup Perth.
