What a show: Oasis Ball soars with $170,302 donation thanks to Perth advertising industry

Western Australia’s advertising, marketing and media industry has raised $170,302 for The Salvation Army at the 29th year of the Oasis Ball.
For 29 years, the Oasis Ball has been our industry’s night to come together—not just to celebrate, but to contribute. Attended by more than 700 advertising professionals, clients and interstate guests, Oasis Ball is more than just selfies and sequins – it’s a long loved celebration of recognition and philanthropy. All funds raised support Oasis House – an initiative spearheaded by The Salvation Army, aiming to assist disadvantaged youth aged 16-25 years of age navigate through the toughest times of their lives.
The Oasis Ball stands as a testament to the collective commitment of the industry to making a difference, unrivalled anywhere else in Australia.
The $170,000 raised adds to the $2.85m raised over the past 28 years, with total donation raised now exceeding $3 million. This life-changing donation will be directed to the Oasis Project to create a range of safe and supported accommodation options for the most disadvantaged young people in our community. These funds will also create opportunities for young people as they journey to independence by supporting life skills and pathways into education and employment.
The Committee aimed for the stars this year, after a record-breaking donation in 2024.
Michelle Testa, Oasis Chairperson and Carat Client Partner delivered a gratitude filled address, thanking the industry for coming together not just to celebrate, but to contribute. Together the industry has harnessed a rare kind of power, and used it for good.
Testa said: “Since stepping into the Chair role, my mission has been simple: to connect industry with purpose. Over the past 24 months, we’ve proven that our network can be a force for good driven by bold partnerships and unwavering commitment from our major sponsors, we are creating real, lasting impact.”
Guy Rees, State Manager for The Salvation Army Youth Service, said: “The Oasis project continues to make significant impact on young people’s lives here in WA. This year’s ball was a significant milestone and really highlights the amazing long-term relationship between TSA and the industry, over $3m raised to date, incredible. This achievement is built on the back of some incredible people who work tirelessly to create and run this event. A huge amount of work and a massive thank you to all the committee, both past, present and those yet to join. Amazing leadership under Michelle as Chair, and incredible support from all the major sponsors without whom the event would not be such an incredible night and raise so much money. We are so humble to be able to use these funds to change the trajectory of young people’s lives and walk alongside them as they develop a sense of identity, belonging and hope for the future.”
The Oasis Committee would like to thank its sponsors and partners in supporting the event, and all those who contributed to smashing the $150,000 fundraising target.
