On Saturday Yagan Square buzzed with excitement as DevelopmentWA and 7plus hosted a vibrant celebration of the AFL Grand Final drawing fans from all over the city.

The free event featured a massive, big screen broadcasting the match live. With 7NEWS reporter Lachie Byrne and MKR’s Hannah Campbell as hosts, attendees enjoyed family-friendly activities, including face painting, a footy tipping competition, and dynamic halftime performances that kept the excitement high throughout the day.

A standout moment was a live panel discussion with West Coast Eagles stars Liam Ryan and Jamie Cripps, alongside Fremantle Dockers player Sean Darcy. Fans engaged with their favorite players during an insightful Q&A session and had opportunities for autographs and photos.

The energy of the event reflected the nationwide enthusiasm for the AFL Grand Final, which became the most watched program of 2024. The broadcast attracted a total TV audience in Perth of 322,000, with 62,000 streaming on 7plus, which saw a 35% year-on-year increase in viewership.
