WAMA looks back on a successful year with leading marketers at annual leader’s lunch

WAMA hosted 30 of Perth’s leading marketers, at Henry’s Loft in the Subiaco Hotel, at their annual leaders lunch. The group unpacked the key marketing trends that emerged over this year, and what it means for the industry moving forward.

 

WAMA Chair and Bonfire General Manager – Growth, Rene LeMerle, said: “As leaders, we don’t get many opportunities to catch up and discuss the current state and future prospects for the WA marketing industry. It was great to have such a passionate and motivated group openly sharing their ideas and views. Our industry is in great hands!”

WAMA also took the opportunity to give an update on their accomplishments over the past year, which included bringing on new committee members, releasing their DEI report, “A way to go” and rolling out their subsequent DEI roadmap, spearheaded by Tess Palmyre. Six events saw almost 1,500 attendees in total, including WAMA’s first ever “Great Debate” format.

Looking ahead, the committee will be adding members to the team as they branch out into hosting DEI workshops, new event formats and partnering with other industry bodies.

Their vision to reinforce WA as a geographic centre of marketing excellence continues, and the committee is committed to showcasing local talent, fostering collaboration and being a supportive voice within the marketing community.

Leigh Wood, Design Director and Co-Founder at Nani, said: “The Leaders’ Lunch was a slower-paced opportunity to hear from the WAMA committee, and spend some time getting to know fellow sponsors we hadn’t met before.

“It was also a nice reminder of the vision for WAMA, which they’re doing a really great job of representing with every event and initiative. The DEI project is especially close to our hearts at Nani and we’re looking forward to what happens next with the establishment of the Taskforce.”
