Anthologie and Walk Free win Bronze for Global Slavery Index at International Anthem Awards
The winners of the 2024 Internal Anthem Awards were announced on Tuesday. Perth based design consultancy, Anthologie has taken home a bronze statue in the Human & Civil Rights, Digital & Innovation Experience category for Walk Free’s 2023 Global Slavery Index (GSI)
The Global Slavery Index was built in collaboration with Minderoo Foundation and European agency Åpenhet, offers a comprehensive and interactive analysis of modern slavery, presenting 25,000+ data points across 160 countries.
Anthologie approached the design and delivery of the platform to bring the data to life through interactive maps, key figures, dynamic visualisations and infographics. At a glance, visitors would be able to explore the enormous depth of data from the global perspective down to individual country comparisons.

The launch of the platform brought renewed attention the 2023 GSI’s extensive analysis, enabling advocates and change-makers access to tools and materials that help advance the movement to end modern slavery. Governments, business leaders and NGOs the world over reported the GSI as instrumental when informing and shaping their strategies and actions against modern slavery.
Media outreach surrounding the launch also found significant traction, with more than 1,500 global media items, over 500 global broadcast items and a potential global audience of 4.5 billion. Australia alone accounted for over 700 media placements and a potential audience of 13.3 million.
Anthologie Founder and Managing Director, Amy Sutton, added: “This Anthem Award is a powerful recognition of the impact we can achieve when we harness the power of data, design, and cross-team collaboration. We’re incredibly proud to have partnered with Walk Free, Minderoo Foundation and Åpenhet to build a tool that shines a light on modern day slavery and empowers Governments, business and change-makers around the world.”
2024’s Anthem Award Winners were selected from a pool of over 2,000 submissions from 44 countries by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences (IADAS). Anthologie join an incredible cohort of winners such as Al Jazeera, Leon Ford, Matt Damon, The Nature Conservancy, Action Aid France, World Economic Forum, TED, The Daily Show with Trevor Noah and World Wildlife Fund.
“The Anthem Awards were born out of the desire to amplify and celebrate the voices that are creating sustainable change and to inspire others to take action,” said Patricia McLoughlin, Anthem Awards General Manager. “In a year where so much is at stake, it is incredibly important to recognize impact work and celebrate the progress happening globally. Congratulations to all of this year’s Winners.”
By amplifying the voices that spark global change, the Anthem Awards are defining a new benchmark for impactful work that inspires others to take action in their communities. A portion of program revenue is allocated to the Anthem Award’s grant program, The Anthem Fund. This year the Anthem Fund partnered with Billion Oyster Project to support their work to restore and conserve New York’s waterways.
Anthologie are a design and digital consultancy that help purpose-led brands scale their impact.
