The Brand Agency creates new Landgate website
The Brand Agency’s UX and Technology teams have created a new website for Landgate, the Land Information Authority of Western Australia, which launched recently.
Following a competitive tender process, The Brand Agency was awarded the contract to develop the website on a new content management solution. The Brand Agency supported the evaluation process of the leading enterprise CMS platforms, resulting in Optimizely CMS being selected. One aspect of the Optimizely CMS that appealed was the licensing and support model that included a Vendor managed cloud service. The platform also stood out due to its simple content management and enterprise features including Content Intelligence and Recommendations, personalisation, optimised search features and multilingual capabilities.
As part of the website development Brand Agency supported Landgate to evolve to a more modern and refreshed brand identity with an enhanced palette of brand colours.
Built on the Optimizely content management system, The Brand Agency’s technology team created the fully configurable page layouts and content blocks, which service a variety of content types across the site. The Brand Agency also developed integrations into Landgate’s commerce platform and other internal business applications, by building React and MVC solutions with API and web service integration methods. The website was developed to cater for all device configurations and was built with stringent accessibility standards.
Paul Hamilton, Head of Technology, The Brand Agency, said: “We have really enjoyed collaborating with Landgate and Optimizely to deliver this large technical project. Additionally, the Natural Language Progressing (NLP) algorithm within Optimizely’s Content Intelligence service, gives us deeper insights into Landgate’s website content, which provides greater opportunities to further optimise the delivery of content for Landgate’s customers.”
Elena del Villar, Senior Experience Designer, The Brand Agency, said: “It has been one of those great web challenges we were excited to resolve. The vast amount of content and functionalities required an implementation strategy, for content to be easy to find and use. Our end goal was to ensure different visitor profiles could meet their specific information needs quickly, while ensuring the transition to the new site was smooth and appealing for them.”
