Perth Is OK! elevates Ebony Lane to Social Media Director + adds Hana Anderson to the Social team

Western Australia’s biggest independent media outlet, Perth Is OK!, has promoted Ebony Lane to the role of Social Media Director.

 

Joining Perth Is OK! just fourteen months ago as a Social Media Manager, Ebony (right) has led the day-to-day operations of many of the company’s social channels and has worked on campaigns for a broad range of clients including Bankwest, Brookfield Place Perth, RAC, Kleenheat and Venues West.

Says Co-Founder and Director Blake Kelleway: “From day one, Ebony has embraced what is a fairly nuanced and demanding role with open arms and has been truly instrumental in the company’s rapid growth across the board these past 14 months. We’re currently in the process of doubling down on the social side of our business, and as Social Media Director, Ebony will play a very significant role in helping shape this next chapter of the company’s future.”

Says Lane: “Being guided by two of the WA media industry’s most forward-thinking business owners continues to challenge me to explore new ideas, whether it’s creating a unique solution for a client’s objectives or our own social platform growth. The team is not afraid of an innovative approach, which has led to great successes including social-led competitions with upward of 85,000 entries and TikTok campaigns with an organic reach of over 430,000.”

“We’re investing heavily in lo-fi video over these next twelve months and Hana under the guidance and mentorship of Ebony, will be leading the charge here. We’re seeing first-hand how TikTok is changing the course of the advertising industry and with Hana on board, we intend to further cement ourselves as the market leaders in this space,” said Kelleway.

Perth Is OK! currently has over 958,000 followers on social media, the vast majority of which are based in the Perth metro area. This includes 593,000 followers on Instagram, 86,000 on TikTok, 254,000 on Facebook and 25,000 on LinkedIn.

“Our highly engaged WA-based social media audience is our point of difference in the WA media landscape. So as these new up and coming platforms emerge, it’s imperative for us to treat them with the gravity they deserve.” said Kelleway.

Perth Is OK! has been recently nominated as a finalist at the upcoming national B&T Awards for the Best Media Platform, as well as a finalist at the national Mumbrella Travel Marketing Awards for Publication of the Year.
