My Foodie Box launches ‘Disappointing Discounts’ campaign via Significant Other on International Women’s Day to highlight WA’s gender pay gap
The campaign, which was unveiled today across multiple media channels invites people to redeem a ‘disappointing discount’ of 21.9%. The same percentage as the current gender pay gap. With proceeds being used to help the Australian Gender Equity Alliance. The campaign was created by new Perth agency Significant Other Creative Agency.
My Foodie Box, co-founded by CEO Mai Hughes, is an ASX-listed Meal Delivery service with women at the core of its operations. More than two-thirds of its senior leadership team are women.
“We are working hard to create a progressive, family-friendly company with flexible working arrangements that allows all our staff to achieve their goals – regardless of their gender.
More workplaces are finally realising that to retain top talent, they need to accommodate, promote, and celebrate all genders equally. It’s what we have done from day one at My Foodie Box, but so much more can still be done.
International Women’s Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity. This year’s theme is titled: #BreaktheBias.
Western Australia currently has the largest gender pay gap in the nation.

Juicebox conducted an internal typeform survey which lead to reflection, celebration and discussions about not only women who inspire us as individuals but also past and present figures who require support for well overdue change. We decided to cut together a tight little vid for our socials rather than a PR piece.
A pay gap discount? For IWD? Groundbreaking.
