Community News wins Best Advertising Print Execution for Lotterywest at News Media Awards

Community News has been recognised for its excellence in publishing at the News Media Awards in Sydney last night.

Community News won the award for Best Print Advertising Execution (communities) for an integrated content/advertising solution for Lotterywest, the Community News/Lotterywest puzzles page that ran across mastheads earlier this year.

The award recognised the campaign that provided readers with an engaging puzzles page and platform for Lotterywest to promote their word play scratchie game.

Community News chief executive Paul Eteen-Bliss said the company’s continuing success at industry awards nights was testimony to its staff’s professionalism, innovation and hard work.

“Media has undergone tremendous change in recent years and our team at Community News has embraced new ways of publishing,” he said. “We are always striving to showcase the important role we play in connecting our clients with audiences of significant size, and our editorial team are at the top of their game in finding new ways to report local news and events to our readers in engaging ways.

“This award illustrates that our newspapers, digital products and advertising solutions across all platforms are world-class.”

Group sales and marketing director Guy Turner said the award demonstrated how publishers and clients can work together.

“I want to say a big congratulations to Sharon and Melissa at Lotterywest, Sarah at Marketforce and Ashleigh at Initiative and their teams for engaging with the idea and delivering a unique ad series that didn’t just complement our puzzles content, but enhanced it.

“Print is a fantastic creative canvas, and we are excited to continue to innovate and explore new executions for our clients and readers.”
