6PR dominates WA Football Media Awards
The 6PR Footy team celebrated a major victory at the annual WA Football Media Awards held last night at Optus Stadium, sweeping the major radio categories and securing the night’s most prestigious individual honour, the Geoff Christian Award.
Radio station 6PR dominated the evening, showcasing the depth of talent across the local sports media landscape.
The 6PR award winners include:
• Geoff Christian Award (WA Footy Media Performer of the Year): Mark Readings
• Best Radio Commentator: Mark Readings
• Best Expert Commentator: David Mundy
• Best TV Commentator (Channel 9): Adam Papalia (marking his fifth consecutive win)
Mark Readings, affectionately known as “Skeet,” was the star of the evening, securing both the Best Radio Commentator title and the esteemed Geoff Christian Award. Readings was lauded for his ability to juggle multiple high-profile commitments throughout the season, including WAFL, AFL, Wide World of Sports (WWOS), and WA Football.
Brad Pottinger, Content Manager at 6PR said: “I couldn’t be prouder of the entire 6PR Footy team. We had an increased focus this season with our local team calling at least 4 games every weekend. It’s a testament to the dedication, passion, and expertise of everyone involved, from our veteran commentators to our exciting new talent.
