West Australian spotted on Buckingham Palace balcony during Queen’s Jubilee

It’s not every day that one of your clients gets to take part in the Queen’s Jubilee celebrations. Ron Samuel, from Cooch Creative, was flicking through his news feed when he saw a photo of a cleaner hard at work on the Buckingham Palace balcony.

“The story was about all the behind-the-scenes work being done to get everything ready for the Queen’s big day and I noticed the cleaner was using a backpack vacuum cleaner,” Samuel said.

“We’ve recently started doing some work with Pacvac, arguably the inventor of the backpack vacuum cleaner. The one that the cleaner was using looked like one of Pacvac’s.”

Samuel sent a screen shot of the photo to Pacvac’s Head of Marketing, Urvin Seeburuth, and was blown way by his response.

“Urvin said it was definitely one of theirs,” Samuel said. “I couldn’t believe it.”

When contacted, Seeburuth said he knew Pacvac was being used at Buckingham Palace but still found it surreal to see one in action.

“Pacvac is a proudly West Australian company and it’s amazing to think our products are being used at such a prestigious place,” he said.

The photograph now takes pride of place in the Pacvac boardroom, to inspire all staff and remind them of how far the company has come.

“It’s a real thrill for all of us to see (the photo) and it’s nice to think we contributed to the Queen’s big day. The eyes of the world were going to be on that balcony because that’s where she’d be standing and it’s a real feather in our caps that a Pacvac vacuum cleaner was used to get it ready. From Kewdale to Kensington. Who’d have thought?”
