WA Agencies dominate at 2019 Australian Web Awards, led by Humaan with three category wins

Western Australian agencies have dominated the 2019 Australian Web Awards, with five of the nine category winners and 16 of 17 finalists.

Humaan led the charge, winning three categories – Startup, Innovation and Education – making them the most awarded agency for the third year in a row. They also had seven finalists across six categories.

The Australian Web Awards showcase of outstanding work by web designers and developers run by the Australian Web Industry Association (AWIA). The 2019 awards were presented in Surfer’s Paradise last weekend.

After nine years of refining Humaan’s approach to Australia’s evolving digital industry, creative director and co-founder Jay Hollywood said the company’s commitment to quality and culture were key factors in their success.

“Everyone at Humaan is individually passionate and creative. We love technology, enjoy problem solving, and get personal satisfaction from making interesting things — to the point where going above and beyond in our work naturally became part of our culture. “Giving everyone the space to flex their strengths in a collaborative way means the outcomes we produce are driven by that passion. We’re very grateful to have had the chance to work with clients who gave us the opportunity to aim for that level of quality.”

Other WA winners included Juicebox in Small Business and The Brand Agency in Government, while finalists included Bam Creative, 303 MullenLowe, Clever Starfish, Blake Media and Digital Meal.
