DESIGNER – GRAPHIC & DIGITAL (FULL-TIME), LATERAL ASPECT, PERTH

The Agency

Lateral Aspect is one of WA’s most enduring independent creative advertising agencies. In its 25th year, there is an exciting opportunity for a Graphic/Multi Media Designer to join the team and help to shape the next phase of operation.

The Role

You assist the design team in all aspects of design including branding, signage and digital artwork ensuring they are on-brand and aligned with the client’s guidelines, vision and values. You work within a high performing team and deliver quality product to a diverse client base across a range of platforms. You are able to switch between digital and traditional media and have a strong understanding of the latest technologies and trends.

Responsibilities

– Study design briefs and determine requirements

– Conceptualise visuals based on requirements
– Generate ideas to portray concepts and advertise products/services
– Prepare rough drafts and present ideas
– Develop illustrations, logos and other designs using software or by hand
– Refine images, fonts and layouts using graphic design software
– Work with copywriters and associate creative director to produce final design
– Test graphics across various media
– Ensure final graphics and layouts are visually appealing and on-brand
– Present completed ideas to clients/team members
– Increase user friendliness in digital products
– Liase with web developers to ensure website design is possible and suitable for development
– Maintain brand consistency throughout all design projects
– Liaise with marketing and design teams to ensure deadlines are met
– Stay up-to-date with industry developments and tools and maintain best practices

Requirements

– Ideally at least 3 years experience
– An Australian citizen or have evidence of your right to work legally in Australia, for example; Visa or permanent resident status.
– Be able to commence within four weeks should your application be successful.

Desired Skills/Experience

– Proven experience and confidence working with a variety of clients, from small business through to large organisations, across various industries.
– Experience in interpreting complex briefs and developing engaging storyboards.
– Can transform information into effective visual masterpieces across print and digital.
– Confident in communicating ideas/concepts to clients.
– Able to perform high-level design from concept to completion.
– Strong typographic and layout skills
– Strong Mac skills and high-level experience in the Adobe Creative Suite – InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, XD.
– Video/animation/motion graphics creation and editing experience (using Adobe Premier, After Effects etc) would be an advantage, however not essential.
– Good understanding of production processes for print and signage.
– Understanding and experience in UI/UX design.
– Experience in web design, including the ability to take website from conceptual wire-frame through the finished prototype
– Basic understanding of web development (CSS and HTML), and experience using WordPress are an advantage however not essential.
– Ability to set up and execute email marketing campaigns using Mailchimp are an advantage however not essential.
– Experience in developing creative online content (e.g. landing pages, social posts, videos etc).
– Competent working across a variety of subject matters and an ability to connect emotionally.
– Understanding of marketing initiatives, strategic positioning and target audience.
– Well organised with good time and project management skills
– Good design communication skills
– Ability to work on a number of projects concurrently
– Ability to work independently and as part of a team
– Have worked in a fast-paced design studio or agency environment.
– A passion and flair for print and digital design, and a strong portfolio to back this up.

Skills and Experience

Working under the guidance and supervision of the Associate Creative Director, the responsibilities of this position is to provide design and support to the digital and traditional art teams. Ideally you will have experience in a design or ad agency, have a thorough knowledge of web/digital and traditional design and possess appropriate academic qualifications.

The role demands excellent interpersonal and written communication skills. You will also have an interest in both the commercial business environment and the clients the agency represents.

Relevant academic/university qualifications are a must.

Trilogy – Social Media Manager

Are you the latest addition to our team of nimble marketing and advertising specialists?

This new and exciting opportunity is for a passionate and experienced social media native to commence a full-time role as soon as possible in our Subiaco office.

As the Social Media Manager, you will be responsible for social media and content for a range of different agency clients, across industries including retail, hospitality, e-commerce, real estate, and property.

Primary Responsibilities:
Creating and curating social media posts and content for multiple brands, including scheduling within 3rd party tools like Sprout Social
Ensuring social media content aligns with overarching client strategy
Writing briefs for art directors and digital producers to create still and video content for social media
Monitoring, engaging and growing our clients’ online communities through best-practice community management
Strategic planning, set-up and implementation of paid social media campaigns across Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn
Managing social media budgets
Designing and delivering monthly reporting for clients to demonstrate success against key metrics, and emerging opportunities
Working alongside other digital team members and account service to deliver integrated campaigns that achieve client goals
Identifying trends from social media, as well as new opportunities for clients and making recommendations

Qualifications/Experience:
Tertiary qualifications or equivalent
Minimum 4+ years’ experience in managing social media platforms and/or campaigns within an agency or client setting
Must have strong competency in usage of Business Manager and Ad Manager including managing ad audiences, conversion/pixel tracking, sales funnels, A/B testing etc.
Proven track record of delivering successful social media campaigns
Independent self-starter and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Excellent written communication skills including copywriting for social posts

And most importantly…be super passionate about all facets of social media marketing excellence and innovation!

If you have additional digital experience beyond social media (e.g., email marketing, paid search, websites) that is also advantageous.

Implementation, management & maintenance of measurement pixels through key platforms & Google Tag Manager.
Create measurement dashboards and campaign reports using Google Data Studio, Supermetrics & Excel.
Management of timelines, deliverables and workflow across the team.
Coaching & development of broader team members who are involved in the day-to-day facilitation of client campaigns.
Development and presentation of recommendations to our clients.

We are looking for someone who is both a critical thinker and strong executor, who works well within cross-functional teams. We also have a strong east/west coast culture and this role includes opportunities to be involved in National projects.

Experience required
At least 3 years’ in Paid Social, including Facebook Business Manger & Linkedin Ads. Experience with TikTok Ads & Twitter Ads is welcomed, but not mandatory.
