The West Australian announces an Australian-first tie in with global news network CNBC

The move further strengthens the leading coverage from the State’s top business journalists and also enhances The West Australian’s online offering with new quality content on key global events impacting markets.

The West’s business editor Sarah-Jane Tasker said being able to access a global news service that delivered 24-hour coverage from the start of trading in Asia through to the closing bell on Wall Street would provide broader content for readers.

“Australia’s financial markets are impacted by the US, and also China, and it’s going to be an added bonus to our coverage of these important regions to have access to the number one global business and financial news network,” Tasker said.

“The content we will be sharing with our readers from CNBC will be broad.

“It will feature video interviews with leading CEOs, mini-documentaries, in-depth features on world summits and explainers on the key features on the latest Apple gadgets.”

The West Australian’s editor-in-chief, Anthony De Ceglie, said the company was “extremely excited” about its new and Australian-exclusive partnership with CNBC.

De Ceglie said: “CNBC’s fast-paced, hard-hitting yet digestible content is essential for any senior business leader — but also easily consumable for mums and dads wanting to understand the latest business trend or issue.”

“We’re particularly excited about sharing CNBC video content with consumers of The West Australian that will draw on the network’s unprecedented amount of real-time market analysis and web-exclusive special investigations.”
