Nova takes back #1 position in Perth Radio Survey 2 just 0.1% ahead of 96FM

Nova are back to their #1 position for All People 10+ with an increase of 0.7% in GFK Radio Survey 2 of the year. 96FM took charge in Survey 1 with the #1 overall position, however they are now #2 but only by 0.1%.

#1 Breakfast – Nova’s Nathan, Nat & Shaun
#1 Drive – Shared by Nova’s Kate, Tim & Joel & Mix 94.5’s Carrie & Tommy and Hughesy & Ed

Nova have dominated in the 10 to 17, 18 to 24 and 25 to 39 year old demographics. Breakfast with Nathan, Nat and Shaun had the biggest increase (2.2%) in Breakfast taking them to #1 with a big lead. The Nova Drive Show continued to be #1 but is now shared with Mix 94.5’s Drive Show with Carrie & Tommy from 3pm to 6pm and Hughesy & Ed from 6pm to 7pm. All round the national shows on the music stations are dominating in Drive. Nova had a 1.5% increase on weekends taking them to #1. Nova are also #1 Females 10+ with 17.2% Share.

96FM increased their 25 to 39 year old audience and had a big increase (2.9%) in 55 to 64 year olds taking them to #1 in this demo as clear leader. Breakfast with Clairsy & Lisa is up 0.6% and have retained #2 position. Mark ‘Smiley’ Pascoe is dominating mornings at #1 with a 1.5% increase and Russell Clarke held #1 in Afternoons. 96FM are also #1 Males 10+ with 14.3% Share.

Mix 94.5 are still sitting in #3 position overall with a 0.2% increase. They had their biggest jump with 40 to 54 year olds with a 3.6% increase taking them to #1. Pete, Matt & Kymba have retained #3 in Breakfast after a slight increase and sitting really close to 96FM. There’s a close battle between the top 3 stations leading way ahead of the next 3 stations.

6PR had a decrease (0.9%) in Share for All People 10+ continuing at #4. 6PR’s biggest overall increase (1.7%) was with 55 to 64 year olds taking them to #2. There were no increases across the week.

92.9 Triple M had an overall increase (0.5%) and moved to #5 from #6. 10 to 17 and 25 to 39 year olds had good increases 2.8% and 1.2% respectively staying at #4. Mornings and Afternoons also had solid increases.

6IX have moved to #6 with a 1% decrease for All People 10+. They had their best increase in 55 to 64 year olds taking them to #2. Evenings was their only increase across the week.

Cume Audience

Nova had the biggest increase of 25,000 weekly listeners dominating with 620,000 weekly listeners. Mix 94.5 also had a great increase of 21,000 listeners taking them to 512,000 weekly listeners. Always good to see weekly radio listenership increasing. Worth pointing out Nova had a 49,000 increase with their Breakfast audience and Mix 94.5 had a 47,000 increase on weekends.

Survey 2, 2022 was conducted by GFK for Commercial Radio Australia from Sunday February 6th to Saturday February 26th & Sunday February 27th to Saturday April 2nd 2022. The WA Border opened on Thursday 3rd March after two years.
