Murdoch University launches research campaign via Wunderman Thompson Perth

Fresh from the successful announcement of the university’s bold new visual identity and brand strategy last month, Wunderman Thompson Perth have launched a new campaign to promote Murdoch University’s research platform, Imprint.

The campaign employs bold visual similes to illustrate Murdoch research stories that have combined unexpected ways of thinking to find real-world solutions.

Murdoch University’s Neil Cullingford, says: “As a University we are proud of how our research leads to positive change on a local and global scale – with our focus on food, health and the environment.”

“Our research truly captures the spirit of free thinking, to look at things from different and often surprising perspectives, to result in breakthroughs that make a real difference.”

“The campaign and the creative capture the essence of our research endeavours and the imprint we are leaving on the world around us.”

Joe Hawkins, Creative Director at Wunderman Thompson Perth, said: “The research stories coming out of Murdoch University are equal parts inspiring, unexpected and jaw-dropping. We all thought they deserved their own moment in the sun, and we also thought it’d be great to not show people in lab coats, or people posing awkwardly and smiling. What we’ve created feels fresh and engaging for the category and showcases a lovely bit of thinking and craft.”

The campaign demonstrates the incredible impact Murdoch’s free thinking research has on the world today, and is helping drive academics (along with the genuinely curious) to the new research platform.

The campaign is currently running in print, social and digital channels.
