Wander, explore and discover the endless delights of Western Australia when Destination WA returns for a 12th series this Sunday at 5.30pm on Channel 9 and 9Now.

Host Trevor Cochrane (The Garden Gurus, Delish) returns alongside a tip-top Destination WA team: television presenter Jo Beth Taylor (Australia’s Funniest Home Video Show, Hey Hey It’s Saturday), 9News weather presenter Scherri-Lee Biggs, television presenter Christina Morrissy, and radio personalities Carmen Braidwood and Nikki Parkinson. Plus, footballer Josh Kennedy and other special guest presenters will join them throughout the series.

In this season of great escapes, our hosts traverse the great expanses of the state to bring viewers the best places and hidden gems WA can offer. They visit the world’s largest collection of spring wildflowers, growing throughout the Golden Outback, the breathtaking Coral Coast, the Abrolhos Islands, and the South-West’s premium wine region.

Stretching over 20,000km of breathtaking coastline, Western Australia is home to stunning bays, fascinating wildlife and rugged landscapes. Viewers will discover thousands of years of history and uninterrupted stretches of white sandy beaches, magnificent ancient gorges, stunning carpets of wildflowers and untouched coral reefs teeming with marine life.

In the premiere episode, Cochrane ticks off a few big-ticket, bucket-list items at Hillarys Boat Harbour, home to a range of adventure experiences including sailing, scuba diving, whale watching, fishing charters and more. Plus, viewers will have the chance to win an Ultimate Hillarys Experience valued at $1,500, including a stay at Hillarys Harbour Resort, a whale-watching trip and a day trip to Rottnest Island.

Jo Beth Taylor, a fresh face in the Destination WA cast, says she is grateful to be back on her home soil alongside a new team.

“From soaking up the sun along our coral coast to a ‘staycation’ exploring Fremantle’s unique markets, there’s a WA destination that will appeal to everyone, on any budget,” she said. “And in a year when domestic and international travel has been impacted like never before, it’s important that we take the time to explore and discover more of our own backyard.”

Destination WA is produced by Perth’s Guru Productions for the 9Network.
