Likeable Creative’s Brent Clinch wins Seven West Media’s agency footy tipping competition
What an end to 23 weeks of footy tipping! After Taryn Payne (303MullenLowe) led the way for almost the entire home and away season, Brent Clinch (Likeable Creative) has taken out the top prize in Seven West Media’s Agency Footy Tipping Competition.
It was a nail biting final 2 rounds as the two were neck and neck but Brent claims his win boils down to always tipping against Fremantle (his own team!) and always tipping in favour of Melbourne. Brent walked away with a 55” TV, a swag bag full of goodies and a $500 Thirsty Camel Voucher which he said will likely to towards a nice bottle of Macallan Scotch.
In keeping with the “Carla and the Colonel” theme which graced everyone’s inboxes on Monday throughout majority of the season, The Colonel wrote an ode to ‘the great Brent Clinch.’

They say football tipping is never a cinch
But then again,…..,you’re not Brent Clinch
Who While working away with the team at Likeable
Came up with an algorithm to make other tipsters out-psychable
So this year he combined genius with A-grade science
And stalked his competition with covert defiance
Having cunningly allowed Taryn Payne to lead for 22 weeks
It was in round 23 he gave his program some tweaks
With data on his side he had plenty to prove
So he plugged in his numbers to make his move
But with the final round done he was under some stress
Seems Brent had failed to execute his clinical success
For, as it turned out the leaders weren’t caught
It was a tie for first,…., he’d come up one short
But Brent had plotted and schemed whilst grinding enamel
To make sure he got his hands on the voucher from The Camel
When it comes to tipping there’s more than one trick to the trade
And Brent had a plan ‘B’ to make sure he got paid
“Picking the margin”, he screamed, is just as important
And in round 23 Brent picked his like he had an informant
So with Payne and O’Sullivan coming up wide of the mark It was
Only Brent’s margins that were in the ball park
And with the season over and the results declared
Only one man can sit in the Tipsters Big Chair
And to him goes the spoils, the booze, and the 55 inch
