Kick-start your filmmaking career: Submit your script to AdFest’s Fabulous Five 2020 Program

If you’re a young or emerging director looking to advance your filmmaking career by showcasing your work to the world, don’t miss your chance to be part of the AdFest 2020 Fabulous Five and take the stage at AdFest.

To enter, simply write a short film script (max. 5 minutes in length) inspired by the theme ‘Fired Up!’ – which is all about that fire in your belly that urges you to say your piece, and the creative energy that fuels you to change things for the better.

If your script is one of the top five scripts as voted by AdFest’s Film Craft Lotus & New Director Lotus jury, you’ll be invited to make your film for a premiere at AdFest 2020, which runs from 18th to 21st March 2020 in Pattaya, Thailand. All Fabulous Five directors will be flown to Thailand to present their film and discuss the inspiration behind it: AdFest will provide return economy airfare, ground transportation, accommodation, and a full delegate registration to AdFest 2020.

Today, it remains one of the only platforms designed to fast-track the careers of emerging commercial filmmakers in our region. I’m proud to say that many of our industry’s award-winning directors got their first big break as a Fabulous Five director – don’t miss the chance to make your big break into the commercial filmmaking sector.”

Who is eligible?
Directors and assistant directors based in Asia Pacific and the Middle East are eligible to submit scripts to the Fabulous Five. For Directors, you must have started your filmmaking career after March 2018. This means by March 2020, when AdFest takes place, you will have no more than two years’ of professional experience as a Director.

Scripts must be submitted online here by 3rd January 2020. Your script will be sent anonymously to AdFest’s Film Craft & New Director jury, and those with the highest scores will be notified by AdFest in early 2020. After directing the short film based on the script submitted, you’ll be invited to present your film at the Fabulous Five session on Thursday 19th March 2020.
