Growth sees Block add four new hires and the promotion of Joseph Dennis to creative lead

Block continues to deepen the capabilities of its awarded creative team with the announcement of four hires and a new leadership role.

Joseph Dennis has moved into the newly created position of Creative Lead following a busy year of new business wins including the Karrinyup Shopping Centre redevelopment launch campaign.

“Joe is, in many ways, an overachiever. Not only does he deliver great work for Block during the work day, but he goes on to win creative awards in his spare time, too,” comments Creative Director, Mark Braddock. “Anyone who has been following the creative scene in WA over the last few years can not help but be envious of his extreme talent. Whether it is his brand design, art direction, typography or way with words, his output is worldclass. This next chapter of his career will no doubt be an exciting one.”

Together, Braddock and Dennis will head the agency’s creative team, which has recently grown with four new hires. Gabi Fountain, Cameron Cruz, Reilly Nylund and Johanna Borger expand Block’s creative offering.

Fountain has returned to Perth following time in London change agency Futerra, where she was a brand designer. Previous to her stint in the UK she was at The Brand Agency. Her thoughtful approach to brand design is underpinned by a strong commitment to social good.

Cruz starts his career at Block following his graduation from North Metropolitan TAFE. He brings to Block motion and 3D graphics talents that belie his experience.

Borger returns to Block to take on a copywriter role. Her portfolio includes work for Ferrero Rocher, Schweppes, L’Oreal, and Vodafone UK. And finally, (soon to be) Curtin design graduate Reilly Nylund rounds out the new hires. Nylund is a talented budding brand designer who brings an inherent creativity to all she does.

“As a business whose roots are firmly in branding, we have always had an extremely diverse offering, and the last six months saw a number of new and exciting opportunities – large and small – come our way, so we have continued to build our broad creative offerings”, says Block CEO Natalie Jenkins. “Block’s remit is ever expanding, and that gives us an amazing opportunity to bring some incredible new creatives aboard to complement our established team who have been kicking goal after goal over the last 18 months.”

The new hires follows on from new strengths in the clients services team after Adam Poole’s appointment in June as Director of Client Services and Kat Hall, who joined in an Account Director role last month.
